Montar automaticamente flash memory en ubuntu 8.04

Favor si me pueden ayudar, como hago para montar automaticamente mi flash memory en ubuntu 8.04, al insertar la flash memory en el puerto usb, me sale un mensaje que no se ha podido montar, pero desde consola con el comando :
sudo mount -t vfat /dev/sdb1 /media/flash, si la puedo montar, pero quiero que eso se realice automaticamente, por que ni hija de seis años no sabe sobre comandos de consola.

Ademas les comento que cuando pongo dos memorias flash, la primera no la monta automaticamente, y la segunda si, ya probe si son las memorias flash, pero estas estan bien.

Esto me paso desde que instale ubuntu 8.04 desde la memoria flash, por que mi lector de dvd de mi portatil esta dañado,

Hay que recordar que salió una versión de todos los Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu y sus derivados que es la 8.04.1 en vista de los multiples fallos que se encontraron en la 8.04

Talvez este sea uno de los fallos...
