montaje memoria usb

Tengo una memoria usb dell pero no se como montarla en redhat, la probe en un equipo con manadrake 9.2 y este si la detecta automaticamente, sera problema con los drivers de los puertos usb o necesito descargar uno para este dispositivo??

pienso que quisistes decir /dev/sda, en todo caso pienso que /dev/sda1 pues normalmente las particiones llevan el número detrás.

Ahora si no los monta automáticamente es porque el dispositivo scsi (/dev/sda1 o el que sea) no está definido en el fstab y el automount no sabe qué hace. En todo caso sería bien simple: mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/floppy por ejemplo para montarlo en ese directorio.

Lo que no deja de ser un hecho es de que los ven como scsi (/dev/sd*?) pues antes los veían como ide pero era medio complicado.

Todo depende más que de la distribución en cómo se haya compilado el kernel. A la final, sea la distro que sea, lo bonito es que es linux.

perdón /dev/sda, No se porque algunos dispositivos de usb Mandrake 10 los reconoce así y no los monta automáticamente. En todo caso los monto como tu dices. Aunque cada vez uso menos Mandrake y más debian.

El log te esta indicando que no reconoce el dispositivo.

Trata haciendo modprobe [i]usb-storage[/i] trata de montar el [i]/dev/sda1[/i] y uestranos la salida de [i]dmesg[/i] y [i]lsusb -v[/i]

Si me funciona en el mismo equipo pero en el SO Windows 2000
Creo que no esta reconociendolo, para esto se necesita tener instalado algun rpm, o modulo especial.
Me parece que ya hice
insmode usb-storage
no me acuerdo si lo hizo bien o salieron errores :P
El lunes lo vuelvo a hacer y sigo los pasos que me dijiste

Creo que los modulos estan bien, lo que pasa es que no reconoce mi pendrive, sera que necesitare un driver para el, la marca no es muy conocicida (PNY, modelo Attache). Por si acaso aqui les mando mi /etc/fstab

Porque no buscas en el web del fabrilcante si tienen el driver para linux?

En el otro sistema operativo fue necesario cargar driver ?
